Back from the Cottage

Ruby at Work at her Summer Job

Alas, I have been back for a while, now, but find it difficult to get back into the swing of things. So do the hounds, who have been sleeping for days, recovering form all that hunting and digging. After a total break like a time away form the internet, away from telephones and even indoor plumbing, life in the city is confusing at first, fast and noisy and really not making much sense. But this passes quite quickly. It’s shockingly easy to get back into the compulsive email checking and morning routine with the paper and cappuccinos and telephone calls.

So what about all those books I was talking about? Yes, indeed, I read a lot, many of them very good indeed. And I made notes, too, because I have a colander for a brain.  But I’ll keep all that for the next post.  After all, I’m still not completely up to speed in the city.

About Caro Soles

Writer in several genres, lover of dachshunds and opera, with some ballet thrown in for good measure. I founded the Bloody Words Mystery Conference, which ran for 14 years as well as the Bony Blithe Award for Canadian Light Mysteries, but that, too, has come to an end. My latest novel is The River District, a look at the seamy side of Merculian.
